The head of state made a trip to speak to Ukrainian forces in the Pokrovsk area on the weekday. He stated that he met with fighters at the command post of the 1st Corps of the state defense force Azov, which is conducting a defensive operation in the Dobropillya sector, an urban center approximately a short distance from the city.

Volatile Conditions in the Area

Updated analysis from a national effort indicated that Russian forces had advanced deeper into Pokrovsk and its environs, though much of it was not fully held by either side. Ukrainian long-range drones targeted a production facility approximately 1,300km inside Russia at Sterlitamak. Local officials confirmed a blast at the Sterlitamak Petrochemical Plant that caused its water treatment facility to suffer damage, adding that the origin of the detonation was unconfirmed. The armed forces leadership stated there was considerable damage to the complex.

Defense units confirmed attacking a petroleum facility at the location in Russia's Nizhny Novgorod region to the east of the capital. The extent of the damage was under evaluation. The territorial leader verified an assault by 20 drones near the refinery.

Russian Military Policy Changes
